I believe that teaching yoga is so much more than calling out poses. It's the establishment of a spiritual and emotional connection between teacher and student. Every time I am with a group of students, my ultimate goal is to create an all around yoga experience that will be remembered. From carefully crafted and engaging playlists to intelligent sequencing and positive affirmations, the experience you'll receive will be like no other.

I have always been a passionate athlete… From playing basketball and running track in high school in Texas, to being a scholarship hurdler at Texas Tech University. I first found yoga in 2010 as a way to relieve chronic back and neck pain. From the time I walked into my first vinyasa class, I was obsessed with the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of this practice. I am a practitioner of Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa flow and have trained with Tiffany Cruikshank, Kino McGregor, Kathryn Budig and Kerri Verna.

I received my 200 hour teacher certification from Karmany Yoga-Dallas (Dallas’ #1 yoga studio, as voted by D Magazine) with Amy Johnson and Jayme Bushmiaer and am currently pursuing my 500 hour certification with Tiffany Cruikshank. In addition to teaching yoga, I am a lululemon Summit Ambassador and hold a Doctorate degree in molecular biology. I’m also a social media influencer, an avid half-marathoner and a passionate world-traveler.

As an actor with a dance background I’ve always been drawn to self expression through movement. I stumbled into a donation based vinyasa class in New York City in 2007 and realized that I had found something that had been missing in my life. It didn’t take long to discover the emotional, spiritual and physical benefits from the practice.

I began teaching in 2013 after completing my RYT 200 hour from Yoga to The People, led by Sam Chase in NYC, specializing in Hatha and Vinyasa.

I believe yoga is a form of self expression and the most authentic way to practice mindfulness and self love. My classes are challenging, yet accessible with emphasis on alignment and fluid movement. I love holding space for a judgment free practice and encourage my students to let go of mental chatter and ego. Through intelligent sequencing, self awareness and breath work I strive to leave my students feeling both grounded and energized!

I started seriously practicing yoga during my first year of pharmacy school in 2012. It was during those years I discovered the fulfillment of challenging the physical body, de-stressing with breath work, learning to control my mental chatter, and most of all have fun.

As a recent graduate of ELXR Yoga Lounge 200- hour, you can expect my classes to be challenging- with a focus on safe transitions, bangin’ playlists, and a lot of arm balances! I want you to come to my class, have fun, and leave feeling lighter.

I am also a licensed pharmacist (Pharm.D.) and knowledgeable on how yoga can help with chronic conditions such as hypertension, pain, and diabetes. So expect some health facts in my class as well.

As a senior at the University of Arkansas, yoga has become my ultimate escape. Since the beginning of my practice yoga for me has been therapeutic in every way, from finding mindfulness in breath to sweating all the sh*t out! I recently completed my 200hr RYT with Nicole at EYL focusing on creating a dynamic atmosphere centered around a sweat filled power flow.

I have a background in classical ballet and competitive swimming and aim to bring elements of both into my classes for a smooth, fluid flow.

My goal as a teacher is to make my students feel welcome always and better leaving class than when they walked in. Starting yoga from a young age has taught me many things but most importantly, anyone can practice as long as they are determined and mindful!

I’m constantly learning within my own personal practice to just breathe and be. It’s in those moments I’m in my own space, my own time, relinquished of worry from every outside force, I feel the most centered physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Most days we all are on “go, and quite frankly life can be hard sometimes! Having me time to break up at what feels like the mundane is essential. A friend suggested yoga as a counter to, yet benefit from my traditional workout regimen while addressing some flexibility concerns. From the first class, the energy, the mindfulness, the poses, SAVASANA- I was hooked!
The transformation I was experiencing within my own practice, led towards the decision for me to teach. I wanted everyone to have this experience. I received my 200 hour teacher certification from EYL- Fayetteville, AR. with Nicole Calhoun. My intent is for every student to leave class feeling empowered, capable, and strong- mentally and physically. I’ll constantly encourage the release of any inhibitions, judgments and, doubt, for I believe it is in that space, amazing things can happen…. I’ll see you on your mat. Cheers!
